Peirce
In this reading I particularly enjoyed how Peirce points out the importance of reason and how it should be explored and not feared. Peirce tells us his opinion of what he thinks the objective of reason is about. "The object of reasoning is to find out, from the consideration of what we already know, something else which we do not know." I see this as him saying we should build on our knowledge to produce more knowledge by using the evidence around us. Peirce also says, "Consequently, reasoning is good if it be such as to give a true conclusion from true premises, and not otherwise." I could not agree more with Peirce's statements but I do not know if it will ever be this way in society as a whole.
