"Imitation is a necessity of human nature." ..."Most of the things we do, we do fro no better reason than that our fathers have done them or that our neighbors do them" (157) If imitation is necessary, then what kind of things are necessary to imitate? Do we imitate the bad man or the good man? In general, we copy others or continue on traditions that the generations before us started. It is part of our lives and without it I believe we would be lost. Though in order to remember what was done and what to do, it must have been passed along orally or written down like the laws that we are to follow daily. The laws are written down so we remember what to do, how to do it, and what the consequences are of each law if it is broken.
So if a boy sees a man commit a crime or brake a law, then that boy will later on imitate what he saw that man do, since imitation is a necessity? Not all things are necessary to imitate, we must chose wisely. One place to start is to follow the law, not what you see other people doing, it can lead you in the wrong direction.
