If I am understanding Utilitarianism correctly by Mill's words, it is measured upon the moral actions of someone that brings contribution to a feeling of happiness or pleasure and that meaning of the moral action is determined by a certain outcome. This can mean that people take a certainn stance on life and there sole goal is to bring pleasure and happiness to their lives in any way they can. The leading factor in Utilitarianism could very well be someone's morals and ethics, but there is such a wide variety of outlooks on morals and ethics that its hard to really narrow down what is "right or wrong" as a whole.
On the response to the statistics of our class I have this to say. I know that my speaking participation is basically non-existent but I think people have different outlooks on these type of classes. For me I am young in my philosophical thought processes because it has just started to interest me two years ago. I take these classes to learn not only from the professor but from my peers as well. I am not blind to the fact that I am not the most philosophical person in the class but I have taken many positive things that have helped me grow from all of you at some point or another. Basically what I am saying is dont be discouraged by my lack of discussion or anyone elses for that matter because the thoughts that are brewing will one day be spoken.
