Darwin's warning???

In some regard the Origin of Species serves more then merely an explanation for how the variety of species have come to be. It may also be seen as a warning to the entire human species. 99.9% of all species that have existed on planet have gone extinct. Although the human race are the most intelligent of all the species that have existed, we are not immune to the changing environments of planet. As a species, we need to take steps toward protecting the environment that we depend on as well as securing the continual survival of our species.

Darwin speaks of the lack of mammals on islands that are located a great distance from greater continents because they are unable to navigate such long distance. He uses this argument to challenge creationist theory; can this be seen as a valid argument against creationism?

  1. I agree that Darwin could be giving us and everyone else a warning about evolution. Evolution happened back then, what would stop it now? Species adapted to the changes in the earth, which maybe one day we will have to do. Though as Chris stated, we are more intelligent than animal species and there is very little that we can do to stop any changes being made in our atmosphere. We will have to adapt to alter our way of lives or ourselves to fit in and survive the changes.
